This beautiful and RARE brooch is exquisite! 

Vintage Trifari 1930's Dress clip / brooch combination piece:


~ Clip-Mates duette type double dress clip pin brooch

~ Circa 1936 Alfred Philippe patented device that is stated to "The invention relates particularly to a pin or brooch the parts of which may be disassembled and separately used" on the patent sheet information.  Signed by Alfred Philippe himself.  See pic.

~ Shiny silver rhodium finish that was prized for it's platinum like finish and anti-tarnish properties

~ Studded with round rhinestones set in a late art deco arrangement with a cascading leaf design


AGE OR ERA:  True antique / vintage jewelry piece - the patent information states the patent is circa 1936.  


MARKINGS:  Trifari with a crown above the "T" on each dress clip back, CLIP-MATES on the back of one clip and PAT. NO. 205080 on the back of the other


METAL/MATERIAL:   Shiny rhodium plated metal and faceted glass rhinestones


CLASP / CLOSURE:  Pin back hardware on the brooch with standard roll over safety catch and dress clip clips on the two individual pieces that slide on the brooch bar


MEASUREMENTS:  When the clip are assembled on the pin bar  - 2 3/4" long x 1" wide complete.  When the clips are removed - they are each about 1 3/8" long x 1”
